Ever since I was young, Rhode Island is the place I go to every summer to make new memories! I have a beach house in Charlestown, RI that has been passed down in my family for generations. Taking the 1 hour drive to the house was always the most exciting time for me because I knew soon I was going to be on the beach with my toes in the sand.
I had my own little bedroom on the bottom floor of the house. Now, the windows were set in a certain way so that when about 5am came around, the sun rise would be right in my eye! However, that actually motivated me to get up (yes that early), read for a little bit on the patio, then go back to bed once the sun shifted. That was probably one of my favorite times of day because no one was awake and it was so peaceful listening to the ocean.
Even though my house is in Charlestown, RI, I always love exploring Watch Hill, RI also! Watch Hill has a lot of different little shops and boutiques! Of course, one of my favorite places to shop there is the Lilly Pulitzer store since it's right on the beach!
Next, I love having Sunday brunch at the Ocean House, which is also right on the beach. My mother and I would sit on the porch watching all of the tourists go by every morning and it was such a relaxing time.
Finally, my most recent, favorite memory of Rhode Island was my boyfriend and I had our first few dates there. It is one of my favorite memories because it was such an amazing time just sitting on the beach getting to know each other while blasting Zac Brown Band. We even kept sand from the beach on our 3rd date together, and it's something I will always remember.
Rhode Island has always had a special place in my heart with beautiful memories. If you have never visited, I would recommend it for a great New England summer vacation in the near future!
