Why I Love my Prep Avenue Planner!

July 19, 2018

For the past month, I have been considering a huge academic decision in my life. As a lot of you know, I'm a very organized person; so getting my new planner every year is a huge deal for me. It's sort of like my "survival guide" for the next 9 months of school!

For the past 3 years, I have been using a Lilly Pulitzer agenda. I've always been a Lilly lover and their planners have been my go to. However, the planners are very general, not student specific.

When I saw the Prep Avenue planner, I realized I was going to spread my wings and switch agendas.

It was set up was already how I made my Lilly agenda in the first place! It was just SO much easier. Below, I'm going to show you some of what the planner has to offer and why I love it so much!

1) I love how each week is organized!

Each day of the week has a specific section for homework, items due that day, what meetings I may have and what I have to get done! I normally put all this information in my Lilly agenda but it's so unorganized because it's all in one, non-labeled block. My Prep Avenue planner helps me set up the week the way I want it! (Peep the FriYAY!)

2) There's a specific section where I can write my recurring weekly meetings!

Whether I'm in a College Republican's meeting, running off to dance class or checking to see when my next Loyola tour is, I am always doing something on campus! This section of my Prep Avenue planner helps me organize my weekly meetings all in one place so I never forget!

3) There's a section to add my class schedule and class information...plus color code it!

I'm a huge advocate for color coding my homework according to class. There is also a section where I can add all of my professors office hours and emails. These specific sections just add one less step to my "to do" list at the beginning of the year!

4)  The planner has art by Evelyn Henson EVERYWHERE

Evelyn Henson is a known artist! I follow her on instagram, she's AMAZING! I love how Evelyn had the opportunity to create the art for the planner! Seeing her work always brings joy to my day!

5) Last but not least...THE STUDENT DISCOUNTS!

This is my favorite section of the Prep Avenue planner because it lists all the retail discounts I can get as a student! I love to shop and the fact that the planner gives me this section means that they are giving me a mini "cheat code" for my obsessions!

I hope this blog post made you want a Prep Avenue planner too! You can order one of the 3 designs at https://prepavenueplanners.com!

First time at the Cape? Live like a Local!

July 16, 2018

This past weekend, I went to Cape Cod for the first time! Surprised right? I just never had the time to go before! One of my  best friends from college finally invited me down to her summer home in Wellfleet, MA and I couldn't say no! Since she has been going t0 the Cape since she's been very young, she showed me how to live it up like a local while still keeping a preppy mindset!

Friday Night

We got to the beach house Friday night and it was beautiful! Since we were starving from the 3 hour ride there, we wanted to get a quick bite to eat! She took me to Mac's on the Pier; it's an outdoor seafood shack on Mayo Beach! I do have to say, the lobster rolls were AMAZING! After we ate, she wanted to show me some classic Cape Cod scenery so we went to the overlook at Marconi Beach. It was truly breath taking and we both got some amazing photos of course (peep how awesome the golden hour light was!) It was definitely a relaxing night after a long afternoon of driving!

Saturday

We spent the whole day at the Cape on Saturday and it was amazing! We kept breakfast short and sweet by making pancakes (110% recommend Kodiak Cakes!) We spent most of the morning at the beach to beat the tourists who came in the afternoon. We went to Mayo Beach and it was SUNNY AND 75! Just relaxing and soaking up the sun was a great way to kickstart the morning! Next, we took a drive up to Chatham, MA to SHOP TIL WE DROPPED! There were so many cute eateries and stores (and Lilly Pulitzer of course!) That night, we just got pizza and ate on the beach since we were so pooped out from carrying all our bags! The beach photos are in my awesome Billa Bong cropped sweatshirt!

P.S. I got a lot of compliments on my lobster skirt while I was in Chatham! It's from Talbots! (Similar one tagged)

Sunday Morning

As my quick weekend trip to the Cape was coming to a close, my friend and I went to downtown Wellfleet and got smoothie bowls! I must say, they were the best smoothie bowls I ever had! We went to a little organic smoothie place called BŌL and I got the North Sea bowl. The bowl included: frozen banana, frozen mango, coconut butter + E3 Live blue majik topped with:granola, toasted coconut, banana! Totally recommend!

After we ate, it was time to head on back to Connecticut. It was a great little trip and I'm glad I got to spend it with such a good friend! I can't wait to go back in the near future!

MAGICAL Day in New York City

July 7, 2018

Hi everyone! I'm back! Summer's been very busy with my internship! I barely have anytime for myself! However, last week, I had the opportunity to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on Broadway!

As a lot of you probably know, I am a huge Harry Potter geek. My mom started reading the books to me when I was 4 and I have been hooked since. So, when the Cursed Child tickets came out on Broadway, I had to get my hands on them. My mom and dad blessed me with getting 2 tickets for my friend and I...and I have to say, they were definitely worth the money!

A lot of people were giving me criticism after I spend so much money to go to this show. It was tough to listen to people lecture me on how "I had better stuff to spend money on". As I kept on getting judged, I was worried that I didn't make the right decision. One thing I do have to take away from this experience is: if you want something, don't let anyone stop you! The fact is, the people who are lecturing to you probably don't know you well enough to be judging you in the first place.

So, after waiting 10 months, I finally got to see the show and it was everything I could've ever hoped for!

I'm not a huge New York City person at all, so I brought my best friend from home to show me around. She loves New York and she knew all of the best places, especially since it was my first Broadway show! She knew how to make this day really special for me. If there's one thing Harry Potter had taught me throughout the years, it's that friendship helps you though everything!

The Cursed Child play was just pure MAGIC and I would definitely recommend going to see it. Since it was my first Broadway show, I don't think anything could top this!
